Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage: 60 vs 90 Minutes
Choosing between a 60- and 90-minute Brazilian lymphatic drainage massage in Glasgow sounds simple until you are staring at the booking menu, wondering whether the extra half hour changes the treatment completely.
It does change the amount of time we have. It does not turn the 60-minute treatment into a cut-down version that is somehow missing the important bit.
The quick answer
Book 60 minutes if you want the complete Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage and wood therapy body treatment.
Book 90 minutes if you want more time across the body, want a slower or more detailed treatment, have several areas you would like me to spend longer on, or want to include optional facial lymphatic work.
Ninety minutes is more treatment time. It is not a promise of better or longer-lasting results.
What happens in the 60-minute treatment?
Sixty minutes is designed as a complete body treatment.
The session can include areas such as the abdomen, waist, hips, legs, arms and back, using Brazilian-inspired rhythmic manual techniques alongside wood therapy tools.
The exact emphasis is adapted around your body and what you want from the appointment. If your stomach and waist are the main reason you booked, we can give those areas more attention. If your legs are the priority, the balance can shift.
Is 60 minutes enough for a full-body treatment?
Yes.
That is what the 60-minute appointment is designed for.
What we cannot do is spend a very long time on every single area. A full-body treatment always involves decisions about where the time is most useful.
If everything is your priority, 90 minutes may simply feel less rushed.
What does 90 minutes add?
Time.
That sounds obvious, but it is genuinely the main difference.
An extra 30 minutes means I can spend longer across the body, give more attention to multiple focus areas and let the treatment flow at a less compressed pace.
It also gives us the option of including facial lymphatic work as part of the appointment.
What does the facial part involve?
The longer treatment can include lymphatic-style work through the face alongside the extended body treatment.
At NOVO Therapy, facial work can also use tools such as ice globes or smaller facial wood tools depending on the treatment flow and what is appropriate for you.
If the face is not something you are interested in, the additional time can stay focused on the body instead.
Will 90 minutes give me better sculpting results?
Not automatically.
It gives us more time to work, but visible changes after Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage depend on your individual body, temporary fluid retention and how you respond to the treatment.
I would not tell you that an extra 30 minutes guarantees a smaller waist, a flatter stomach or a result that lasts longer.
Choose 90 minutes because you want the extra treatment time — not because you have been promised a mathematical upgrade in body shape.
Which should I book if my stomach and waist are my main focus?
Either can work.
In a 60-minute session we can prioritise the abdomen and waist while still treating the body. In 90 minutes we simply have more room to spend longer there without taking as much time away from everything else.
If one area matters far more than the rest, tell me during the consultation. That information is more useful than trying to guess the perfect appointment length on your own.
What if my legs are the main reason I am booking?
Again, both appointment lengths can be adapted.
Ninety minutes can be useful if you want substantial time on the legs while still having a complete upper-body and abdominal sequence.
If your goal is simply a full-body treatment with some additional focus on the legs, 60 minutes can still be completely appropriate.
What should I choose before an event?
Do not assume 90 minutes is automatically the ‘event version’.
If you have already had the treatment and know what you like, choose the length that gives you the experience you want. If it is your first treatment, a trial appointment before an important event is much more useful than simply booking the longest option the night before.
Your own response matters more than the number on the booking menu.
What if I am new to Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage?
Sixty minutes is a very sensible first appointment if you want to experience the full body treatment and see how the style feels.
If you already know you enjoy longer treatments, want the facial element or prefer not to feel time-conscious, there is nothing wrong with starting at 90 minutes either.
Is 90 minutes more intense?
It does not need to be.
More time does not mean I spend an extra half hour trying to make the treatment progressively firmer.
Pressure and pace are adapted around your comfort in either session. Ninety minutes mainly gives us more space rather than more aggression.
What if I only care about relaxation?
Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage can feel enjoyable and rhythmic, but it is a more active, body-focused treatment than a slow Swedish or Hot Stone Massage.
If your main goal is to disappear into the table for an hour and forget the outside world exists, I may actually recommend a different treatment rather than simply adding another 30 minutes.
So should I book 60 or 90 minutes?
Choose 60 minutes for the complete body treatment.
Choose 90 minutes when you want more time, more detail, more room for several focus areas or the option of facial lymphatic work.
Neither is the ‘proper’ version and neither comes with a guaranteed body-sculpting result. The better appointment is the one that matches what you actually want me to spend the time doing.
